The OneXPlayer brand has just unveiled its latest innovation, the X1 Pro, boasting a versatile 3-in-1 design and powered by AMD’s advanced Strix Point APUs. This new entrant follows the release of the F1 Pro and the Ayaneo 3, marking it as one of the pioneers to harness AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs, setting up a direct competition with GPD’s forthcoming Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
With its multifunctional design, the OneXPlayer X1 Pro can effortlessly switch roles between a laptop, tablet, and handheld device. Similar to the Pocket 4, it comes equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This powerhouse features a dual-CCX layout with 12 cores (comprising four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c cores), 12MB L2 cache, 24MB L3 cache, and a turbo boost up to 5.1 GHz. On the graphics side, there’s the Radeon 890M, featuring 16 Compute Units powered by AMD’s XDNA 2, delivering a solid 50 TOPS of AI prowess.
The display is a real treat, sporting a 10.95-inch LTPS screen with a formidable 120 Hz refresh rate and 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. This screen doesn’t just look sharp; it covers 138% of the sRGB color spectrum and hits 540 nits in brightness, promising vivid visuals. Depending on your storage needs, you can start from 1TB and go up to 4TB, with blistering read and write speeds of up to 7.1 GB/s and 6.5 GB/s, respectively, in the 2280 form factor. Plus, OneXPlayer thoughtfully included a MicroSD slot for even more storage options.
In terms of price, the presale offers for the X1 Pro start at $1,399 for the HX 370 edition with 1TB storage and 32GB RAM, going up to $1,799 for the model with 4TB storage and 64GB RAM. Once the presale wraps up, these prices will climb by $200 for each configuration.
The X1 Pro promises around eight hours of battery life with its 65.02Wh battery, though, in more power-hungry scenarios, you might expect around two hours at a 28W setting. For quick power-ups, it comes with a 100W Gallium Nitride charger. Connectivity options are top-notch with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
For gamers, the hall-effect RGB joysticks are a thoughtful addition to prevent stick drift. As far as connectivity ports go, the X1 Pro packs quite the punch with two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pre-orders are now open, offering keen buyers a chance to secure the X1 Pro at its introductory price until the presale ends. Shipments are set to kick off on January 3rd, with OneXPlayer showcasing the X1 Pro alongside other new gadgets at CES 2025 next month.
