As you might already know, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has an intriguing side quest involving some golden balls. These shiny treasures can technically be in the possession of Goro Majima, but only if he goes on a quest to collect all seven as part of a sub-story.
Now, for those chuckling at the headline – we’re talking about actual balls made of gold scattered across various locations where Goromaru docks, much like you’d experience in Like A Dragon: Gaiden. At one point, a pesky bug made it tough for some players to gather them all, but thankfully, that’s been resolved. So there’s no need to fling rotten veggies or send threats via Kiryu my way.
This fix is part of the latest game update, patch 1.12, which RGG rolled out today, March 7. Specifically, the patch notes state they “fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained.”
Ah, RGG and their intrigue. Which specific ball was causing trouble? What kept it from being collectible? Did it, perhaps, get swiped by one of the game’s many treasure-seeking pirates who aren’t former Tojo Clan members? The answers remain a mystery. However, the important thing is that they’re back, to borrow a phrase from Thin Lizzy, those adventurous balls have returned. That’s what counts.
Additionally, let’s look at what else this patch has improved across all platforms:
– Resolved an issue where manual saving wasn’t possible.
– Fixed a bug that caused the player to fall into the sea and get stuck while loading a save under certain conditions on a ship. (That one sounds both frustrating and oddly entertaining.)
– Fixed issues where arcade game rankings weren’t saving properly.
– Corrected typographical errors and improved localization.
– Various other bug fixes to enhance stability and quality.
For PC players, there are some specific updates including an upgrade to Intel XeSS 2.0.1 and a fix for a rare crash during resource loading. If you’re dealing with unexpected driver crashes on particular NVIDIA GPUs, RGG suggests capping your FPS at 60 in the settings.
If you haven’t yet embarked on the Pirate Yakuza adventure, give my review a look. It only slightly questions whether my sense of humor has faded because I didn’t find a middle-aged Japanese man showering to be comic gold.
