Control’s Ultimate Edition just received a fresh upgrade this Monday, revamping the game with new content even after five years since its initial release. This update brings an unexpected surprise with a guest appearance by none other than Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind Death Stranding. In Control, Kojima steps into the shoes of Dr. Yoshimi Tokui. Players can access this special mission by picking up the Dr. Tokui Tapes collectible located in the Extrasensory Lab within the Research Sector. According to a post by Vida Starcevic, Remedy Entertainment’s community manager, this mission was previously available exclusively to those who got their hands on the PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe edition.
Beyond this intriguing addition, the update delights Control enthusiasts with three new outfits that were initially part of preorder exclusives. The developers have also fine-tuned the game’s graphics, introduced DLSS updates, and addressed various bugs. Among the tweaks is an audio adjustment for certain cinematics and the end credits, where mixing issues were a bit too noticeable. With a lighthearted touch, Starcevic clarified, “It wasn’t the Hiss, it was us. Sorry.”
Currently, this update is ready to roll for PC gamers, with fans on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X eagerly awaiting its release, which Remedy Entertainment assures is on the horizon.
