The PSN outage in 2025 might not have been the most catastrophic event in PlayStation’s history, but it surely threw a wrench in the weekend plans of avid online gamers. In an effort to win back some goodwill, Sony is rolling out compensatory measures. Current PS Plus members will get a five-day extension. Meanwhile, those not subscribed to PS Plus can enjoy a complimentary multiplayer weekend.
When is the latest free PS Plus multiplayer weekend?
So here’s the scoop: Sony’s offering a free PS Plus multiplayer weekend kicking off today. From February 13 to 15, gamers without a PlayStation online subscription can dive into the multiplayer modes of their favorite titles absolutely free. While the spotlight might be on games like EA Sports FC 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and EA Sports College Football 25, feel free to fire up any online multiplayer game in your library during this period.
Though Sony hasn’t directly mentioned it, this gesture seems aimed at those non-PS Plus gamers who faced difficulties during the recent PSN hiccup. PS Plus subscribers had already been promised a five-day extension, but the free weekend is a nice olive branch for everyone else affected.
If this weekend’s taste of online play leaves you wanting more, it might be the perfect time to consider jumping onto the PS Plus bandwagon, especially the Extra or Premium tiers. Come February 18, the first part of Don’t Nod’s latest creation, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, will be available in the Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members. Plus, for you Premium subscribers, the Classics Catalog has just been enriched with the legendary PSP title Patapon 3.
