Nintendo has recognized that launching the Nintendo Switch 2 will heavily depend on exclusive games, making them a vital component of their strategy.
This insight came during a discussion with a shareholder who inquired about the future release of games for the current Nintendo Switch once its successor was available in stores.
Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, responded by mentioning, “As of now, we’ve planned to release Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond for the Nintendo Switch in 2025. Given the substantial number of people still enjoying the Nintendo Switch, our goal is to continue introducing engaging software for it.” He further elaborated, saying, “However, new hardware like the Nintendo Switch 2 thrives on exclusive games. We’re looking at various strategies to make both the Nintendo Switch and its sequel appealing to a broad audience.”
