Bungie has just unveiled an exciting new development with its upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon. For the first time, we’re treated to a proper glimpse of the gameplay in action, and the anticipation is building as Marathon prepares to debut on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on September 23rd, 2025.
In this thrilling adventure, players step into the shoes of Runners, who are essentially cybernetic mercenaries boasting unique abilities. Teaming up with a squad of up to three, you’ll find yourself in the thick of battle against relentless AI security forces and competing Runner teams. Along the way, your mission is to gather an arsenal of weapons, implants, and gear. The catch? Survive the onslaught, and all your hard-earned loot remains yours for subsequent missions.
If you prefer to take on the challenge alone, the game caters to solo players as well. This means you can dive into the action independently, facing off against rival teams and securing your haul without any backup—talk about testing your mettle!
