Discover Minisforum’s Latest: AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX "Fire Range" Products
At the "Japan IT Spring Week," Minisforum grabbed attention with its futuristic products using AMD Ryzen technology. Their lineup includes innovative MoTD (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards, compact Mini PCs, and efficient NAS systems.
Introducing the Minisforum F1FGM MoTD Motherboard: Perfect for Desktop Enthusiasts
Let’s dive into the details of the Minisforum "F1FGM," an outstanding addition to their MoTD series. This setup boasts a sleek mATX design, featuring robust heatsinks across VRMs, M.2 slots, PCH, and even a protective IO cover. It’s a worthy successor to the Dragon Range’s BD770i and BD790i series, now accommodating the advanced Fire Range "Ryzen 9000HX" CPUs.
You can configure this MoTD with the formidable AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU. This powerhouse offers 16 cores, 32 threads, and is built on the advanced Zen 5 architecture. With a boost clock speed reaching 5.4 GHz and a hefty 64 MB of L3 cache, it’s rated at a default 55W, but this motherboard allows tuning up to a whopping 160W for a premium performance experience.
The board is versatile, supporting various CPUs, including an "X3D" option, and utilizes a cooler mounted on a vapor chamber baseplate, given the mobile CPUs lack an IHS. Its VRM boasts a 13-Phase Duet rail design coupled with 60A SPS power stages.
Delving into its other features, the motherboard is equipped with four DDR5 DIMM slots, featuring a standard UDIMM design supporting up to 256 GB and impressive speeds up to 8000. With the X870M chipset, it’s tailor-made for high performance, similar to the B850 series. Connectivity includes two PCIe slots (5.0 x16 & 4.0 x16), three M.2 slots—one rated at Gen5x4 speeds—two SATA III ports, and modern I/O capabilities like USB4, 5GbE LAN, and WiFi7. For ease of use, BIOS DEBUG LEDs are also available.
The Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC: Compact Design, Powerful Performance with Fire Range CPUs
Turning to the MS-A2 Mini PC, this remarkable device also utilizes AMD’s Ryzen 9000HX "Fire Range" CPUs and builds upon the previous MS-A1 series with Ryzen 8000G processors. The Mini PC offers modern connectivity options, featuring three M.2 slots (one convertible to U.2), a 10 GbE LAN SFP+ port, and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot for low-profile cards.
In contrast to the MoTD, this Mini PC’s motherboard supports two SO-DIMM slots, allowing up to 96 GB RAM and speeds of 5200 MT/s. The adaptable I/O includes dual USB 3.2 Gen Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 2, a USB 2.0, two 10 GbE LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual display outputs via DP and HDMI.
Discover the Minisforum N5 PRO: Strix Power for NAS Systems
Last but not least, let’s talk about the Strix-powered N5 PRO NAS system. Driven by the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, which offers 12 cores and 24 threads, alongside the Radeon 890M iGPU, the N5 PRO is a formidable storage companion. The NAS comes equipped with five 3.5-inch bays and allows for RAID configurations, thanks to its toolless design for hassle-free drive swapping.
This unit supports up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMMs and features a single PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for video interface needs. Each bay supports up to 22 TB, and you’ll find three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (2x Gen4x1 and 1x Gen4x2) for additional storage options. Connectivity includes advanced options such as a 10 GbE and a 5 GbE Ethernet port, alongside three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports for other devices.
As anticipation builds, Minisforum plans to release these exciting solutions in the upcoming months. Keep a lookout for more details as they emerge.
