Thunderful recently released their second developer diary for the upcoming game, Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, designed for the Nintendo Switch.
This time around, narrative director Oskar Hanska takes the spotlight, delving into the intricate facets of the game’s storyline, particularly focusing on the intricacies of character decisions and how voice acting plays a key role in conveying the tale.
Now operating under the name Stormteller Games, the team that was once Thunderful Gothenburg is behind this latest addition to the eerie, whimsical universe of Lost in Random. This new installment morphs into a rogue-lite action experience.
The game’s plot thickens with Mare the Knight capturing Aleksandra, once known as The Queen, along with her ally, Fortune, within the confines of the Black Die. Players will find themselves battling through a gauntlet made of randomly generated challenges, tackling monstrous opponents and navigating colossal board games.
Victory promises treasures that can aid in defeating Aleksandra’s captor, and your escape from this living maze – where malevolence prevails and randomness dictates the rule – will depend on your strategic thinking and your loyal dice companion.
Thunderful has highlighted some key elements of the game, which features:
Mastery Meets Chance: Dive into a thrilling combat system that fuses real-time action, strategic choices, and just a dash of luck.
Forge Your Playstyle: Arm yourself with four distinctive weapons, cast your dice companion, and mix over 100 relics with potent card-based powers to create powerful synergies.
Ever-Changing World: Explore four uniquely crafted worlds, each brimming with its own secrets and hurdles. Prepare to face more than 30 diverse enemy types, including some imposing bosses.
A Dark Fantasy Tale: Settle into a fully narrated story nestled in a world reminiscent of Tim Burton’s artistry, complete with hauntingly beautiful landscapes and a captivating soundtrack.
Lost In Random: The Eternal Die is set for a digital release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch globally in the Summer of 2025.
