The Boston-based game development studio, The Molasses Flood, has officially joined forces with the renowned Polish gaming company, CD Projekt Red. This announcement was made on The Molasses Flood’s website, stating that as of April 1st, they have become part of the team behind Cyberpunk 2077. Importantly, this merger will not impact their prior titles, The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, which were developed before their acquisition by CD Projekt in 2021. The studio is continuing its work on Project Sirius, a new multiplayer game set in the captivating world of The Witcher.
Additionally, it has been announced that Damian Isla, the founder of The Molasses Flood, has decided to step away from the studio. “This marks a significant shift,” he shared in a heartfelt message on LinkedIn.
“TMF has been a significant chapter in my life for more than a decade. I’m incredibly proud of the legacy we’ve built, enduring as long as we have in a market that’s often tough on small teams like ours. We’ve crafted some truly beautiful, memorable, and uniquely quirky games. What’s equally important is having collaborated with some of the most generous, kind, and talented individuals in the gaming industry.”
