Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki has offered a straightforward piece of advice to parents worried about potential dangers on the platform: if it makes them uneasy, perhaps their kids shouldn’t use it. In a recent interview with the BBC, Baszucki, who also co-founded the service, emphasized that the company does not take any negative experience on its platform lightly.
He stated, “If you’re feeling uncertain, it’s perfectly okay to keep your kids off Roblox.” While this might seem counterintuitive, Baszucki underlined his trust in parents to make decisions that are best for their families.
When questioned about reports highlighting negative experiences and the presence of bad actors on Roblox, Baszucki was candid. “At our company, we believe that even a single bad incident is too many,” he remarked. “We are vigilant about monitoring for bullying and harassment, filtering out harmful content, and, when needed, we don’t hesitate to involve law enforcement.”
These comments follow a series of reports about malicious activities on the platform. In response, Roblox has been working diligently to enhance its child safety protocols and address these valid parental concerns.
