Nintendo recently shared some impressive figures, revealing that over 150.86 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold globally.
During the period leading up to December 31, 2024, Nintendo moved 9.54 million units. Although this number marks a 30.6% drop compared to the same period last year, the company highlighted that hits like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder had significantly boosted the sales of their hardware the previous year.
When it comes to software, nearly 1.36 billion Nintendo Switch games have found their way into players’ hands. However, in the nine-month timeframe, 123.98 million units of software were sold, showing a 24.4% year-on-year decline.
Curious about which games are captivating fans the most? Leading the pack is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 67.35 million copies sold. Close behind, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has managed to charm 47.44 million players, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has reached 35.88 million. The enchanting world of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has attracted 32.62 million adventurers, while Super Mario Odyssey has delighted 29.04 million gamers. Pokémon Sword and Shield aren’t far off, with 26.60 million copies sold.
Rounding out the list, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have sold 26.38 million, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has enchanted 21.55 million fans, Super Mario Party has entertained 21.10 million, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe stands at 18.06 million copies sold.
