Once more, the Polish game developer People Can Fly is diving back into the beloved Gears of War series. According to an announcement on their website, the team is set to collaborate with Xbox’s The Coalition studio on the much-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day. You might remember that People Can Fly was at the helm for Gears of War: Judgment back in 2013 and also contributed to the original trio of games in this acclaimed sci-fi shooter series.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, shared his excitement about this reunion. “It’s truly a privilege to step back into this iconic saga,” he said. “The chance to add to the gripping action and narrative richness that fans adore is genuinely thrilling. We’re incredibly thankful for the trust and support from our partners on this endeavor.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mike Crump, the head of The Coalition, emphasized the significance of their new project. “Gears of War: E-Day isn’t just our upcoming game; it marks a return to the essence of what makes Gears of War unique and true to its roots,” Crump explained. “Working alongside the skilled team at People Can Fly, who’ve long been a part of our franchise’s heritage, is a pleasure.”
Despite the excitement surrounding this collaboration, it’s been a challenging year for People Can Fly, with over 150 positions being cut in 2024.
